About Alexander Hamilton

First Secretary of the Treasury. Founding Father. Author of the Federalist Papers. Resident of New York. The character at the center of every offering.

Hamilton arrived in New York from the West Indies in 1772, attended King's College (now Columbia), drilled with Revolutionary soldiers in the streets near Wall Street, and rose to become George Washington's most trusted aide. After the war he founded the Bank of New York, championed the ratification of the Constitution, and shaped the American financial system.

Much of the city he knew is still here — if you know where to look. Scott MacScott has been bringing Hamilton back to those streets, classrooms, and stages since 1990.
